Hi, my name is Mark Dorio. I am very blessed to serve Trinity Lutheran in two roles: Director of the Sierra Spirit Worship Band which provides music for the Saturday 4:30 PM Worship Service, and as Director of Family Ministry with my wife, Georgina.
I was born in Los Angeles, CA. My parents were both hippie type college professors. They strongly encouraged me to pursue intellectual and creative endeavors. I was active in church youth groups, and then in college, I worked in youth ministry in addition to other various collegiate ministry opportunities. I earned a BA in Philosophy from University of Nevada Reno with minors in French and Religious Studies.
Together, Georgina and I hope to continue a rich tradition at Trinity to foster an environment that connects youth in Christian fellowship both within and outside of the church. We hope to inspire youth to strive for a life that is enriched with service, charity, and love! We are eager to participate in community events and fellowship or service events with other churches that seek to shine a light on Jesus Christ.
My family enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities, which we like to incorporate into our ministry. If you are interested in learning more about Youth Ministry opportunities at Trinity Lutheran, then please don’t hesitate to send me an email or a text so we can get together and chat.
Hello, I’m Georgina, and I am blessed to be serving alongside my husband Mark in Youth Ministry. We hope to share our love for Christ and community with all whom we encounter. We believe the power of God’s love shines through each of us in our talents and service to others. We see that living in the love of God means being a part of sharing His blessings, whether it be reaching out to others in love and care, sharing fun and fellowship with church and community, or by donating resources, including our time.
I am a Native Nevadan, born in Carson City, and have lived in Northern Nevada all my life. I grew up surrounded by animals including the usual pets. I also raised and trained outdoor animals, including sheep, pigs, turkeys, goats, and horses. Animals were a lens through which I saw love from an early age, so I naturally wanted to be a veterinarian throughout my youth. I continued seeking this profession at the University of Nevada, Reno where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.
As an adult, I learned that I have a passion for teaching and helping people of all ages. When I met Mark, I observed his own service in ministry, and this desire to serve God grew in me as well. My hope is to share Christ’s love with others. In 2010, Mark and I were blessed with our daughter Liliana, which has deepened my longing to work with young people, to watch them grow, and to see the wonder of God’s love through their fresh perspectives.
