The flower ministry began in our church when Pastor Eric came to Trinity. Lois Thran and Ken Dressler volunteered to do the flowers for our Easter service and were then persuaded to also oversee our Christmas decorations.
The program continues to this day, largely in part due to donations received from congregational members. Monetary donations are utilized anytime throughout the year for sanctuary décor to purchase such things as special holiday flowers or palms.
Those who donate are encouraged to take the flowers they purchased after their use in the church. Flowers not claimed are taken by committee members to various valley assisted living facilities, accompanied with a note explaining it is a gift from their friends at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Flowers are also delivered to church members who are confined to their homes. When flowers are placed on the altar for weekend worship and the giver does not wish to take them, they are rearranged into smaller bouquets and delivered to those who may benefit from a bit of Trinity “cheer.”
The committee welcomes volunteers to assist with this successful outreach program. Current Flower Ministry members are Lois Thran, Susie Jackson, and Carrie White. Please feel free to contact any member if you would like to help. Be prepared for the happy reward you’ll receive by being a part of the Flower Ministry at Trinity.
